(Above) December 2003: Gave the family a Christmas vacation in London and Paris. True to form, one of our stops in London just had to be the museum at the Old Royal Observatory, on top of the hill in Greenwich--official location of the Greenwich Prime Meridian.
From the Center of the World...
...to la Mitad del Mundo
July 2010: Rebecca and I joined other members of our church on a mission trip to Ecuador. Besides participating in a number of work projects, we also had a bit of tourist fun. At Museo Intinan--sitting directly on the equator and adjacent to the famous equator monument--one of the challenges is to balance an egg on the head of a nail (they even give a certificate if you succeed). Really not all that hard--it took about 3 seconds.
